During the recent shutdown, thousands of federal employees were forced out of work. Then there were the select few that had to work; but had to wait to get paid as soon as the shutdown ended. Of course with an event such as this problems do arise. At least 5 Bureau of Prisons employees are claiming that they were never paid once the shutdown ended. In their lawsuit petition, they are claiming that the federal government is violating their own labor laws. These employees like many others said they struggled to support their family during the shutdown.
